Bluffton’s Premiere Flats to feature 180 upscale apartments
BLUFFTON – Work has begun on the new Premiere Flats apartment development on the north side of Bluffton.
RTT Investments broke ground Thursday on a 10-building market rate apartment complex on the 16-acre site in the 2200 block of north Main Street in Bluffton.
The $40 million upscale development will feature 180 one- and two-bedroom apartments – mostly single bedroom. A club house with a pool, commercial buildings, and high-end storage units will also be constructed on the site.
“We are excited to get it going. It will be high end, with a club house, grills, and outside space,” said Rob Troxel of RTT Investments.
The interior will be nicer furnishings, granite counter tops, stainless steel appliances. “We are targeting the 25-35 aged individual,” said Jeff Stringer of RTT Investments.
Local contractors such as Brickley Excavating, Habig Excavating, and IMI Irving Materials, Inc have already been contracted to perform work on the site. An attempt will be made to find additional local contractors to complete the remainder of the construction.
“We couldn’t be prouder to have RTT Investments come and invest this kind of money in Bluffton,” said Mayor Whicker.
Construction on the site is set to begin immediately with the first buildings being open in the beginning of 2021. Total construction time is estimated at approximately 20 months with final completion at the end of 2021.
“By the end of next year, it will be done landscaped and ready to go,” said Stringer.
The development received approval by the Wells County Area Plan Commission following a special meeting on June 17.
The City of Bluffton is moving forward on a request by RTT Investments to annex the property within the city limits.
