Employers Asked to Submit Information for Regional Wage and Benefits Survey

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Local Economic Development Organization (LEDO) Council, convened by the Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership, is asking employers in the manufacturing, logistics and healthcare industries to help inform the region’s economic development efforts by participating in a comprehensive survey of wages and benefits.

The online survey, which is open until Sept. 21, will gather accurate and up-to-date information about the local business environment to assist existing employers in their evaluation of current compensation programs against the regional market.

“Regional employers play a critical role in reporting information that will guide economic development initiatives in the future,” said LEDO Council Chair Chad Kline, executive director of Wells County Economic Development. “It’s essential for economic developers to understand the climate of what employers offer as far as wages and benefits because it helps guide our decision-making and understand our economic development needs.”

Human resource professionals are encouraged to fill out the survey, which covers wages for about 150 salaried and hourly positions ranging from company president to custodial staff.

The benefits portion looks at costs of health insurance and policies in areas like training, vacation and financial incentives including retirement and bonus plans. A workforce assessment section asks about skills, education, drug testing policies and forecasts for hiring and wage increases.

“With the wage and benefits survey, regional employers can tap into current and useful information to the business conditions critical to attracting skilled talent and creating new business investment in Northeast Indiana,” said Chad Ruston, vice president of business development at the Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership.

The survey targets manufacturing, distribution and medical employers in Adams, Allen, DeKalb, Huntington, Kosciusko, LaGrange, Noble, Steuben, Wabash, Wells and Whitley counties.

Data analysis and reports are prepared by an independent consultant, and participant information is confidential.
