Edge earns regional honor
A Bluffton-based manufacturing company has been honored with a regional award.
Edge Manufacturing was named the Northeast Indiana Corporate Citizen of the Year in the inaugural Northeast Indiana Manufacturing Awards presented by KPC Media Group. The program was held last week in Fort Wayne.
Wells County Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Erin Prible nominated Edge for the award.
“Edge Manufacturing started operations in 1993 and provided solution tasks with a focus upon logistics, fabrication and custom tooling,” she wrote. “The company has built a statewide reputation for providing second chances by employing ex-convicts. Owner Eric Gerber states that in his life he has been granted a second chance through Jesus Christ and his goal is to give employees the tools and encouragement to see purpose in their lives. The team at Edge ensures that employees are loved, appreciated (and) valued whether they remain at Edge over the long-term or move to accept new opportunities. This work improves Wells County, the region and the entire state by providing second chances to employees.”
The semifinalists for the award were Polywood of Syracuse and Zimmer Biomet of Warsaw. The award was sponsored by the Regional Chamber of Northeast Indiana.
Several other awards were presented to northeast Indiana manufacturers during the event.
