Ossian based Rethceif Packaging plans to nearly double the size of their current operation to accommodate new fabrication equipment.

Rethceif Packaging will invest nearly $850,000 for a 18,125 square foot expansion to their current building in the Ossian Industrial Park in Ossian, Ind. The current building is approximately 20,500 square feet.

The expansion is necessary for the growth of the company, said CEO Tim Fiechter. The “addition of fabrication equipment will reduce our manufacturing time and improve quality control.”

Rethceif Packaging, founded in 2005, designs and manufactures process and packaging equipment for customers worldwide.

“Our equipment supplies packaging solutions for producers of large animal and pet bedding, insulation, erosion control products, wood pellets, absorbents, fertilizer, salt, feed grain, and lawn and garden products,” said Fiechter. “We also supply large bagging systems to cotton gins.”

To assist in the expansion, the Town of Ossian has granted Rethceif Packaging a 10-year sliding scale abatement on $600,000 in real estate and $250,000 in equipment.

“We are excited to see local companies grow,” said Brad Pursley, Ossian Town Council president. “Ossian, as well as Wells County, has great businesses in our industrial parks.”

Fiechter went on to say, “The support of the town of Ossian helps justify staying in Ossian versus a move to Fort Wayne, provides a nice industrial park for us to be a part of, and keeps us in a community that our employees enjoy.”
Rethceif Packaging, which currently has 23 employees, will add seven new jobs as a result of the expansion.

Bluffton based Briner Building has been contracted to assist with the expansion of the building.
