Through interactive learning, campers are given a better understanding about a variety of career opportunities that Wells County offers. Wells County offers two summer camps for area youth, Health Careers Camp and Robotics Camp. See below for information on the upcoming 2019 summer camps.

 

Health Careers Camp

Wells County Economic Development, Bluffton High School, and Northeast Indiana Area Health Education Center have collaborated to offer an annual health careers camp for students 7-10 grades.

Camp is limited to the first 14 participants.

2019 Careers Camp Details:

  • Date of Camp: Monday, June 17 - Friday, June 21
  • Time: The camp will run from 8am – 3pm
  • Students who apply must agree to participate for the full week.
  • There is a cost of $25 per camper to attend the Health Careers Camp.

Students interested in applying should have an interest in a health career. Students must be entering their seventh through sophomore year in Fall 2019.
Registration must be completed and submitted through the online Health Careers Camp registration link.

This year's theme is the Nervous System.  The camp will focus on what this system is and does for us humans and what the system looks like through hands-on experiences.  
Each morning consists of various classroom activities with afternoons set aside to visit various visits to local health care providers.

Robotics Camp

Wells County Economic Development, Wells County 4H Robotics Club, and Wells County Purdue Extension have collaborated to offer an annual Robotics Camp for students 5-9 grades.

Powered by the LEGO MINDSTORMS Education EV3 Base Set and software, explore the exciting world of robotics and engineering. Combining the versatility of the LEGO building system and intuitive drag-and-drop programming software, this adventure encourages teamwork, friendship, and creativity from day one.

Campers will also visit a local manufacturer to tour and see large scale robots in action.

Camp is limited to the first 20 participants.

2019 Careers Camp Details:

  • Date of Camp: Monday, July 22 - Friday, July 26
  • Time: The camp will run from 1pm – 6pm
  • Students who apply must agree to participate for the full week.
  • There is a cost of $25 per camper to attend the Robotics Camp.

Students interested in applying should have an interest in robotics and programming. Students must be entering their fifth through freshman year in Fall 2019.
Registration must be completed and submitted through the online Robotics Camp registration link.
